Immersive GCSE Music

On February 13th, our Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE Music students enjoyed an immersive GCSE Music Afternoon at the Horniman Museum!
Our students had the exciting opportunity to experience live performances from talented musicians representing traditional Indian, Arabic, and African music. They enjoyed the unique sounds of the sitar and tabla, various West African instruments, and the Arabic oud. In addition to these performances, students explored the museum’s music sections, deepening their understanding of diverse musical cultures. This trip was a key component of their GCSE Music course, specifically focusing on Area of Study 3: Rhythms of the World, which will be essential for their Written Paper.
