The highlight of our academic year is undoubtedly our exceptional maths results, boasting an impressive 87% Grade 9-4, a remarkable 15% above the national average. In English Literature, our achievement was equally impressive, with 44% of students achieving the top three Grades 7-9, more than double the national average. Our overall 4-9 grade attainment stands at an impressive 86%, significantly surpassing the national average of 70%

Our top 2 GCSE achievers achieved an impressive 13 GCSE and numerous students achieved 9 grade 9s this year.

Our Level 2 BTEC results continue to be exceptional, and way above National Averages, particularly at Distinction and Distinction* where they are our highest ever.

55 students got at least one grade 9 and 24 students got at least one grade Distinction* with 12 students achieving both!

As outlined by the DFE in advance, all exam grades this year were designed to generate a distribution of results in line with those in 2019.  Our GCSE and Level 2 BTEC results this year show that we largely achieved higher than in 2019 and higher than National and Merton results as currently published. In many cases our results in 2023 are very close to those in 2022.

Our SEN students have achieved particularly well, with their Progress 8 score higher than the whole school cohort.

Note - the nationally used analysis tool 4Matrix predicts our final Progress 8 score to be 0.81 once all examination results are nationally fully validated. This would match our score for 2019 (the last set of pre-Covid exams)

Year 13 2023 Results:

All 2023 attainment measures were significantly above the national average with the average points score for A Level being 37 (placing us in the top 20% of schools nationally) and the average points score for Applied General (BTEC ) courses being 31.
Retention rates show 93% of students from the start of year 12 to the end of year 13 were retained on all their A Level courses and 89% on their BTEC courses.
Destinations post-18 are measured for the 2020/2021 cohort with 88% of students sustained in education, employment or training and 76% at university, which is significantly above the national average.

Students are now headed for an extraordinary range of courses and careers, from Architecture to Zoology and from Dental Surgery to Dance.

The huge range of university progression routes includes Biomedicine, Pharmaceutical Science, Earth Climate Science, Environmental Management and Sustainability, Urban Planning, History, Geography, Languages, English, Politics, Journalism, Law, Psychology, Criminology, Fine Art, Theatre Design, Real Estate, Sports Media, Museum and Classical Studies, Film and TV, and a Norland Nanny.

Some students have progressed onto degree-level apprenticeships, including Environmental Science with Balfour Beatty.
