Dance Showcase: Beyoncé Homecoming
On the 25th of February at 6:30 pm, The Dance Department showcased ‘Beyonce Homecoming’ with 179 students across all Key stages 3, 4 and 5 taking part.
It was fantastic to finally have a live audience for the first time since 2019.
Encouragement and praise were offered by the enthralled audience as the dancers performed some very challenging Dance pieces at a phenomenal standard. Students performed in a range of dance styles to different tracks on the album which ran seamlessly for 1 hour.
Throughout the day, students in the cast rehearsed collectively to piece together the Welcome and Finale pieces. Teachers and support staff who visited throughout the day were impressed with students’ professionalism, positivity, performance and teamwork skills. It was lovely to see Ricards Lodge's students being supportive of each other during the dress and technical rehearsals and enjoying the different choreographic pieces being performed.
It was particularly emotional seeing our amazing Year 13 students perform in what will be their last show at Ricards Lodge. The Dance Department would personally like to wish them every bit of success in the future in the career pathways they choose!
