Year 9 Senior Aspirations Project Trip to see Macbeth at the Globe Theatre
In the second half of the spring term, almost 100 partnership pupils from eight partnership schools attended a performance of Macbeth at the Globe Theatre. This production was specially abridged to last 90 minutes and featured live music performed on the bagpipes and percussion.
The performance was preceded by a workshop led by a Globe Theatre actor. One pupil said that the best thing about the workshop was, ‘the creative freedom I was given to interpret the play, and seeing different interpretations helped broaden my mind’, whilst another added that the best thing was, ‘being interactive and getting the students engaged in the play before they see it’.
All who attended the performance said that they were really glad that they had had the opportunity to experience a production of Macbeth and one student said, ‘it was amazing that one person could play so many roles’.
