What Our Girls Say

Beatrice

Year 11, Junior Leadership Team

Whilst I am still uncertain about what my future holds, I am confident that Ricards Lodge has prepared me for any challenge I may face.

I haven’t always enjoyed school, but after spending four years at Ricards, I have come to appreciate how fortunate I am to receive such a high-quality education. This is thanks to the incredibly supportive community here at school and in my local area. My favourite subjects include Maths, Design and Technology, and PE, and I hope to pursue a career that incorporates these passions in the future.

Ricards Lodge offers a wide range of clubs and activities, and over the years, I have been involved in many of them. I have participated in the school rugby and netball clubs, the Ball Girls program, the School Council, and tour guiding for open evenings. Now, I am proud to be part of the Junior Leadership Team (JLT). Additionally, through Ricards Lodge, I have completed my Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh awards. These experiences have taught me teamwork, trust, and resilience — and they’ve been great fun too!

At the end of Year 10, I joined the Junior Leadership Team, which serves as a bridge between the students and senior staff. We ensure that everyone's ideas and voices are heard, and we support staff at various school events, such as open evenings, Aspirations Evening, award ceremonies, and more. Being part of the JLT also allows me to give back to the school that has shaped me so much.

Finally, my role as Assistant Head Girl has helped me develop invaluable skills in leadership, communication, and organisation. I am truly grateful for the opportunities and growth I have experienced here at Ricards Lodge.
