What Our Girls Say
Umu
Year 11, Junior Leadership Team
When I first joined Ricards Lodge, I was really nervous. I worried that I wouldn’t fit in or that people might judge me. For the first week, my nerves made me feel unsure and out of place. However, I soon realized that Ricards Lodge is an incredibly friendly and welcoming school. The people here were kind, open, and always happy to help.
I joined several clubs, and what surprised me most was how everyone accepted each other for who they were. At Ricards Lodge, I felt like I could truly be myself and build meaningful friendships. Over the years, I grew and matured, making my share of mistakes along the way. But with the guidance and support of my teachers, I was able to learn, grow, and become the best version of myself.
When the opportunity to apply for the Junior Leadership Team arose, I knew I had to give it a try. I saw it as a chance to make a difference and to be someone younger students could relate to — someone close in age who could listen to and understand them. I wanted to represent their voices and help create positive changes for everyone at Ricards Lodge.
