What Our Girls Say
Kamila
Year 11, Junior Leadership Team
I am so proud to be part of the Head Girl team, alongside the other resilient and fantastic girls. We all care deeply about making the school a better place and leaving a positive impact.
My goal as Assistant Head Girl is to help empower students to realise their potential and overcome their fears. If you put your mind to it, you can truly achieve anything.
Looking back now, I wouldn’t have believed that the shy, quiet girl I was in Year 7 would become who I am today. Ricards has helped me develop my confidence and discover so many new interests along the way. For example, I initially wasn’t too keen on sports, but the vast opportunities at Ricards have made me realise how enjoyable they can be. In fact, I have now chosen sport as a GCSE option! I am immensely grateful for the encouragement of my friends and teachers.
Over the years, I have joined numerous clubs and learnt so many valuable skills. I was also fortunate enough to be part of the School Council from Year 7. This opportunity, open to everyone, allows students to voice their opinions and be heard. Being part of the council has helped me build confidence as well as communication and teamwork skills.
I believe everyone can find something that suits them, especially with the wealth of support around us. So, if there’s something you’re unsure about joining, or if you think it’s "not worth the risk," remember that some risks are worth taking. Step out of your comfort zone and explore— you might just surprise yourself.
