What Our Girls Say
Maleha
Year 11, Junior Leadership Team
I am very blessed to have been selected as an assistant head girl and be able to work with the rest of the amazing JLT and SLT to leave a long-lasting impact within Ricards Lodge.
Starting in Ricards Lodge at Year 7, I definitely did not expect myself to have this position, nor did I realise the hefty responsibility and reward that came with it.
As the years went by, I grew in confidence and did my part where I could, through School Council, SMSC and a current cultural ambassador. Examples of impacts were working closely with Ms Service to celebrate our first Culture Day and to introduce our first prayer room, available for all faiths. Additionally, I also started my own debate club. I think it’s safe to say, this role was waiting for me more than I was waiting for it; Year 7 me would never imagine this.
I am also immensely proud of the rest of our team, especially our Head Girl and I believe we have not had a more diverse JLT than this yea, this means some amazing things are going to happen in the future.
Being in this leadership team, I believe I bring determination, creativity and leadership skills to the table. I am excited to work with our new headteacher, Mrs Page, and see the school from a different perspective.
I hope that I have made my South Asian and Ahmadi Muslim community proud by earning this position and undoubtedly hope to progress into becoming a “successful woman of the future” from this position.
Once again, I am so lucky, proud and excited to have this role and am ready to fulfil it to the highest extent possible and I can’t wait to see what this year unfolds.
