What Our Girls Say

Year 11, Junior Leadership Team

I am proud to be a member of the Junior Leadership Team. It brings me immense joy to be part of a group with such wonderful members, all of whom go out of their way to ensure that the voices of Ricards Lodge students are heard and acted upon. Joining the JLT was a goal I had set for myself once I reached Year 10, so I am elated to finally be part of a team that works tirelessly to improve our school and make it an incredible experience for everyone.

For me, Ricards Lodge has been instrumental in helping me discover who I am as a person — my strengths, my weaknesses, and everything in between. The school has nurtured my independence and helped me develop qualities for which I am immensely grateful. I deeply appreciate all the opportunities and support I have received along the way.

Year 7 was by far the hardest, especially with COVID-19 still being a major challenge at the time. Spending most of my first year online, in bubbles, and even in outdoor tents to avoid the spread of COVID was difficult. However, I was able to overcome these challenges, and soon I found myself participating in numerous clubs and workshops.

Some highlights from my early years at Ricards include playing the role of Aladdin and performing it with my peers at King’s College, as well as taking part in many sports fixtures and borough tournaments. Being involved in team sports not only gave me the chance to compete but also helped me form friendships and connect with others in my year group. Over the years, I have had the privilege of serving on the Sports Council, acting as a Cultural Ambassador, and earning medals and badges for sports, academics, and behaviour.

Now, as an Assistant Head Girl on the Junior Leadership Team, I have the honour of representing all the students at our school and understanding what it truly means to be a student leader. I am so grateful for all that I have achieved and am profoundly thankful to my teachers, who have played such an essential role in my Ricards Lodge journey.
